People often visit areas such as Inverness, Loch Ness, and the main cities in the central belt such as Glasgow or Edinburgh often not fulfilling what their Scottish holiday could be.

Travel away from any of the main cities in either direction by about 1 hour and you will find yourself in a completely different world, an unfamiliar world, but one which is pure in a Scottish sense. Travel westwards from Glasgow for an hour and experience the pleasurable drive and stunning landscapes that are Loch Lomond. Continue through Tarbet and drive for two hours and find yourself in stunning coastal countryside by the still loch by Arrochar onwards through the stunning white village that is Inveraray and numerous possible country escapes such as Tarbert, Machrihanish and Oban thereafter.

Seafood lovers will love Scotland, particularly West Scotland where there is fresh fish landed on a daily basis, and most local restaurants and hotels will serve only the freshest seafood and shellfish, such as members of the coveted Seafood Trail, Dunvalanree being one of the founder members with favourable reviews. One of the most notable success stories is the popular Loch Fyne Oyster Bar at the very tip of Loch Fyne, although you can experience the same clean and fresh taste from Inveraray, Tarbert, Lochgilphead, Carradale and Campbeltown.

Golf is a favourite past time, no wonder with so many great golf courses on offer, none more perfectly located, and better than one of the top links golf courses in the country, Machrihanish Golf Club.

Walking in Scotland, is on a par with Golf and Whisky drinking, so it is no surprise that the popular Kintyre Way walk provides numerous days of walking and exploration of a wonderful quiet peninsula.
